A native of Western North Carolina, Dwight was born in Asheville, raised in Burnsville, and has lived most of his adult life in Asheville. His family consists of his wife, Candy, two daughters, Casiah and Aletha, and sons Brent and Casey. Dwight's home is in Beverly Hills, and he owns Vincenzo's Ristorante & Bistro at 10 N. "I've learned that the ideas and people that unite us are far more important than those issues which divide us. Working with others on parking, I have helped make the citizens of Asheville $7,000,000 richer. As founding president of AIR, the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association, I've promoted local business interests. As author of "Spare Change for Real Change", I've helped implement a program that reduces panhandling, fights drug and alcohol abuse, reduces crime and supports local social service agencies that help people rebuild their lives. As owner of Vincenzo's and a Chamber of Commerce board member, I know that Quality of Life is good business."
