1) What proposals would you submit for consideration on the city's legislative agendas?

A streamlined, enforceable, comprehensible UDO that enables, the community as a whole to know what to expect in the building process.

2) What parts of the Sullivan acts will you advocate repealing? Why?

Repeal restrictions on differential rates & use of funds. Citizens should be able to use their water system to pay their debts and reduce their taxes.

3) What do you like/dislike about the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness?

I like the focus on chronic homelessness. It will save us money. I dislike the fact that some members of the community feel "entitled".

4) With 20-20 hindsight, how would you have settled the dispute between Reid Thompson and Greenlife?

I would have urged Greenlife to purchase Thompson's property, so that Greenlife was the one living with the loading dock problems.

5) What is one thing you will do to improve public safety?

Hold the county and state accountable for their areas of responsibility in the criminal justice system, (under funded by $500 billion over the last five years).

6) Describe an ordinance you would support to reduce our carbon footprint.

Our city is the number one commuter city in the state. Encouraging growth in and up will reduce the use of automobiles. Simplify the UDO.

7) What kinds of restrictions do you anticipate placing on applications for conditional use zonings?

A bonding process which secures the community's financial interests and developers compliance seems the best way assure everyone that the plans submitted will be completed.

8) How would you respond to a tourist who writes to say they were scared away by the freaks downtown?

Establish a nuisance court to enforce our local ordinances and commit three beds in the new jail to support the new courts work.

9) What is one thing you would do to help people who work in Asheville be able to live here, too?

$20 an hour needs to be able to buy a house here.   I would support raising the thresholds on prices in the housing trust fund.

10) What parts of town do you want to revitalize, and what economic incentives would you use?

I support local, infill development throughout the city. I would increase   funding of the housing trust fund and streamline the UDO.
